Where is the time going?

LOOK! I finished the center of my Slow Roll Cotton Boll! (That's my name for mine.... since it's taken SO.LONG.)

...and we have been having some crazy storms... like the one that brought this hail 2 weeks ago.

And our friends' oldest turned 5, so she got a sock monkey

And here are those napkins and coasters blogger refused to post...

And the sock monkey got a quilt, of course, made from charms of a very pretty fabric line, but one that's just not my style, so it made it really, really easy to give to a 5 year old.
And I made pillows- this is my favorite one. Just a simple slipcover, but they add so much more interest!
And, finally, here's my CRAZY placemat. My husband is getting his own in blues/greens, to be finished soon... as soon as I figure out how to quilt it.
Can you believe this is only some of what I've been up to?
I've been working, too! I still love my job at the golf course- it's funny how I see people from back home, and then random famous people, too- like coaches of the Colts, past players, etc. Too bad I'm a BEARS FAN THROUGH AND THROUGH!!!

Speaking of work, I need to get to bed!
Night, all!

Multi-tasking

I'm working on a new bed quilt for our King-sized bed.

It's for the Naked Bed Challenge. Our bed isn't naked of quilts, but it does need a summer-weight comforter, so why not.

I've also (finally!) gotten back in the habit of running. Tim and I, along with some friends, have all committed to doing a half-marathon this fall. I wanted to do one last year but ended up with a bone bruise. The heel is healed, so let's try this again!

Oh, and in between all of this, I'm still slowly piecing my Slow Roll Cotton Boll. It's been renamed given how long it's taking me!!

And, I've been enjoying our new couch. Doesn't my pillow look nice there? I've been playing PS3 games with Tim, and watching old episodes of Top Gear, all in between record-breaking productivity.

I also finished my first ordered pillow! It's getting delivered soon...

If she doesn't love it, I think it looks pretty snazzy on our couch... ;) This was the first time I'd ever tried prairie points. I'm very pleased with it.

It kind of feels like I'm going all over the place.... maybe because I am!!!

A great way to start the day.

The "Ugly" pillow.

I took my husband's suggestion and turned it into a pillow. I love it the same way I love a good mutt! And the best news? I used up ALL of the green and the magenta floral, most of the lavender batik, all but a 1.5" strip of the ugly blue, and the majority of the pink and white.

This is all that is left to speak of. The lavender pice is only about 6" x 16", so it will probably get cut into  strips to add to the boxes of strips, but to me that will "kill" it, too. I might kill the pink in the same way, just to be done with it.

I feel so energized having finished something! I do that sometimes in the middle of a more labor-intensive project... it helps me get going on the long project if I take a break midway to make and finish a small project like a pillow (even an ugly!).
